Frankie Stevens, one of Australia's leading vocalists, is back on the loose again. Many people will remember Frankie as the lead singer of Frankie and the Highlighters. He was their leader and front man for over 15 years. He and his group were one of the leaders of the 50’s & 60’s rock and roll scene in Melbourne and shared the stage with many Australian and International stars.
Frankie had guest spots on T.V with the ABC’s Elvis Special on the Peter Couchman Show and Channel 7’s Acropolis Now. He has also performed for the President of the Philippines, The Governor of Guam (USA) and the Governor of Saipan. (USA) He has also sung for all the major football club’s Including North Melbourne when they won the Grand Final.
Frankie often received air play on 6 O'clock Rock and, early in his musical life, he shared the stage with the likes of Sam Cook, The Searchers, Wayne Fontana and The Mindbenders. In 2007, he was invited to sing for the Kito Awards in Shanghai.
Over the past few years Frankie has been performing solo around Australia and overseas. His show features romantic Ballads, Swing, Jazz and good old Rock & Roll. Featuring songs from all the Greats that Frankie is renowned for like Elvis Presley, Cliff Richard, Neil Diamond, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Englebert Humperdink, Tom Jones and many more.
