Renowned for his live performance, Ben exudes passion and a raw energy reflective of the outdoor festival and world music scene. Drawing influence from artists such as Pink Floyd and Bob Marley; it’s been quoted that "Ben is as close as you can get to being able to bottle and sell passion!"

Emerging on the scene in 2002 with an 8 piece powerhouse ensemble, Mandala, it was a given that Ben would forge his own sound in the musical landscape. In 2004, eager for a new direction, Ben went on to write and record 'Crystal', an 11 part afro-jazz inspired piece. This was followed by his debut acoustic solo release in 2006 titled, 'Black and White'. These releases signified Ben's status as a prolific musician, songwriter and solo artist. 2012 sees the release of Bens latest Ep ‘Times not waiting’. A diverse offering of original songs that showcase strong organic up-tempo grooves with a soulful acoustic edge. The album takes you straight to the street party, then gently glides you back in for landing and leaves you sipping on a herbal tea, reflecting on yesterday, dreaming of tomorrow and relishing today...
Based in the Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne, Ben grew up in a rural setting with a strong connection to nature. He would first encounter music at the age of 7 with piano lessons. At the age of 14, inspired by Pink Floyd, Ben began penning his first songs and teaching him-self guitar on a nylon string acoustic. He also took an early interest in percussion and world music. Ben's teenage years saw him practicing and honing his sound while writing a multitude of songs and delving into the psychedelic and folk rock genre, joining jams with local musicians. Ben soon went to study Jazz and contemporary music at Box Hill Tafe, where he forged strong musical connections and went on to form Mandala. In 2002 they recorded their self tiled EP, which received rotation on 106.7 PBS FM and 97.1 MDR FM. The live shows were an awe inspiring experience and a great platform for Ben as a solo artist.
A left field artist, Ben creates powerful and uncompromising music, connected by his personal and spiritual journey. His music is honest, his voice soulful and his songs have the ability to transcend the audience and ignite the air with a positively charged energy.
